Because you just can't see too many Greek Islands, we're spending the day sailing to the Saronic Gulf to visit three: Hydra, Poros and Aegina.

Kat's Postcard Journals in Chania, Greece May 9-16, 2020
Meet Kat Kirby

I am a mixed media artist, with a background in the expressive arts therapies. I learned at an early age that creativity and self-expression were keys to a fulfilling life. I love creating and teaching mosaics, collage, altered books, and other mixed media techniques. I enjoy combining traveling to beautiful places to share my passion for creativity, and have led art retreats in France, Portugal, the Caribbean, Sedona, and now Crete!
I believe there is a creative soul in each of us, and I make it my goal to unleash that “Inner Kindergartener” just waiting to express itself!

Kat's Classes

“Postcard Journals” is a fun way to create a keepsake of your Crete adventure. I will show you how to make a blank journal with pockets and flaps to hold various treasures and hand-made postcards. Then, we will work both in the studio and out and about in inspiring places on Crete, where we will combine collage, painting, and journaling with a relaxing cup of coffee or a ride in a glass-bottom boat!

Come join me in Crete in May, 2020!

Our Program

Chania is a lively harbor town on Crete, Greece's largest island. With everything from snow-covered mountains to palm tree-lined beaches, ancient walled cities to little mountain villages, the diversity of its land and warmth of its people make it a spectacular place to explore, and a perfect base for Kat's Postcard Journals classes.
Viaggio Tours offers 7 nights in this fun city, in the same central 4* hotel each night. Enjoy Kat's classes and touring from there, so unpack once, make yourself at home.
Chania has a waterfront lined with cafes and restaurants, an old town of colorful cobblestone streets perfect for wandering, a covered market, great shopping and beaches, lots of exceptional activities within easy reach, and so many unique venues for Kat's classes. This is going to be a great week. Come with us!

Wine Tasting

The ancient Greeks considered wine to be an integral part of their lives. And I know some of our Viaggio Tour guests do too! Greece has over 300 native grape varieties, and we'll sample a few together in a fun and informative class.

Botanical Park Gardens

Our private transportation will bring us to Crete's Botanical Park and Gardens. They have 1 or 2 hours hikes on well marked trails, and this awesome restaurant with ingredients from their vegetable gardens, and herbs and fruits coming from the park.

Archaeological Museum

This impressive museum, housed in a former Venetian Monastery has a vast collection of statues, coins, pottery and other artifacts, all found during excavations around the city. It's worth the visit just to see this building's stunning interior!

Venetian Lighthouse

It's a beautiful and easy walk from the cafes and restaurants of the Venetian Harbor, along the sea wall to the lighthouse. We'll do that stroll together one morning.

"It takes a lifetime to discover Greece, but it only takes an instant to fall in love with her”
~Henry Miller.

Waterfront Cafes make perfect painting venues!

One of our favorite things about Chania
It is an authentic Greek Island. Because it is not as famous as some of the more well-known islands, Chania is surprisingly unspoiled, catering to local daily life. The Cretans are not as focused on marketing to tourists as they are to welcoming them as guests on their island. They are proud of their food, culture and history, and want to share it with you. And we at Viaggio Tours, are happy to be able to bring you there.
