Meet Cynthia Morris
Cynthia Morris is an acclaimed creativity coach, author and artist living in Denver, Colorado. Believing that we all have the impulse to create, she coaches writers, artists and entrepreneurs to make their creative dreams an exciting reality.
Cynthia's personal library of illustrated journals are bursting with color, drawings, and snippets of life. Her pages show how to see familiar and faraway places with new eyes. Cynthia’s journal process led her to a path as an illustrator. She’s the creator of Writual Blessings, a colorful deck of affirmations for writers. Cynthia illustrated the book, How to Sell Your Art Online (Harper Design, 2016) by Cory Huff. Her art, books and teaching inspire others to relish their own creative impulse on a daily basis.
What if your travels, life and creativity felt more magical and more inspired? You’ve probably come home from a trip and exclaimed, “That was a magical experience.” What makes something magic for you and how can you attract more of? Come with me to delightful Greece to discover your own blend of magic.
When we travel, we are more porous and open to the wonders of the world. Our creativity retreat will help you make all of your journeys and your journals feel more magical. We will slow down and savor the smells, flavors and colors of Crete.
With everything from snow-covered mountains to palm tree-lined beaches, ancient walled cities to little mountain villages, Crete is the largest island in Greece, and boasts its best year-round climate.
The diversity of its land and warmth of its people makes it a spectacular place to explore. Viaggio Tours has chosen Chania (with its own international airport) on the northwest coast of Crete, as a perfect base for our Greek Island Adventure.
We'll spend six nights in this vibrant harbor town, in the same gorgeous 4* hotel the whole time. Just unpack once and make yourself at home.
We have a full program of Cynthia's Magical Journey Art Classes and excursions, and also time to enjoy Chania with its stunning waterfront, lined with cafes and restaurants, an old town of colorful cobblestone streets perfect for wandering, a covered market, great shopping and beaches, and so many exceptional activities within easy reach.
We'll spend a half-day visiting Crete's Botanical Park and Gardens. You can do one or two hours hikes on well marked trails, and/or lunch at their restaurant with ingredients from their vegetable gardens, and herbs and fruits coming from the park.
The ancient Greeks considered wine to be an integral part of their lives. And I know some of you do too! Greece has over 300 native grape varieties, and we'll sample a few of Crete's local wines together
It's a beautiful and easy walk from the cafes and restaurants of the Venetian Harbor, along the sea wall to the lighthouse. We'll do that stroll together one morning.
"It takes a lifetime to discover Greece, but it only takes an instant to fall in love with her”
This impressive museum, housed in a former Venetian Monastery has a vast collection of statues, coins, pottery and other artifacts, all found during excavations around the city. It's worth the visit just to see this building's stunning interior!
What We Love About Chania
It is an authentic Greek Island. Because it is not as famous as some of the more well-known islands, Chania is surprisingly unspoiled, catering to local daily life. The Cretans are not as focused on marketing to tourists as they are to welcoming them as guests on their island. They are proud of their food, culture and history, and want to share it with you. And we at Viaggio Tours, are happy to be able to bring you there.
