IF CROATIA IS NOT ON YOUR BUCKET LIST YET, IT SHOULD BE

Split, Croatia

SPLIT 1.jpg

Our home for six nights will be a lovely 4* hotel within the Diocletian Palace walls, as we explore the area from here.  Split is a fun, friendly, welcoming city with an incredible history.  With the palace as its heart, and the long wide Riva waterfront promenade, we have a week of touring, wine tasting, cooking classes, museums, day trips, and, well, gelato.

Diocletian Palace

Split Dioclian Palace.jpg

This living jewel forms about half of the old town of Split!  It was built at the turn of the 4th century for Roman Emperor Diocletian who voluntarily gave up the throne and wanted it for a retirement home.  Our local guide joins us to explore its marble streets and incredible architecture, today filled with museums, monuments, temples, tunnels, hotels, shops, restaurants and cafes.
